Often times when someone who is not an athlete anymore decides to starts working out and bettering their body it is because of the way they feel about themselves. Body image is something most people struggle with at least once in their life and for some people they always struggle with the way they look.

What is body image you may ask, body image is the way a person sees their self when they look in a mirror. When someone struggles with body image this means they aren't happy with the way the look and they can try and solve that problem one of several ways. Some people chose to cope with these mental issues by not eating and starving themselves and others chose to self harm because they think that will numb them of the pain they see when they look in the mirror. There are also people who chose to workout to help them feel better about themselves.

When working out it is well known that you lose weight and your muscles become more defined. So people who struggle with self image and body positivity often turn to working out to help with their confidence. But this can also cause issues because to get to a healthier body its takes several month and when someone who struggles with self image they tend to push to hard to fast and often end up doing worse. Working out is a slow and steady process and in the long run will boost anyone's confidence to improve self image.

Although everyone has a different body and not one looks the same, everyone has flaws even if they try and hide it. Everyone is perfect in their own way and that's a hard concept for many people. Just because you look different does not mean you are any more or less pretty. Everyone looks different and that is the way its supposed to be. Self image will always be something people struggle with and the best way to go about that is in a healthy way.
